With the onset of illiberal ideologies and growing antisemitism on both sides of the political spectrum, JILV is dedicated to forging new partnerships in the fight for free expression and against antisemitism. Samuel J. Abrams is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and professor of politics and social science at Sarah Lawrence College. He has been widely published in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Real Clear, The Washington Post, The American Interest, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Abrams is currently working on two books exploring partisanship, polarization, and society.

Blake Flayton is a columnist and new media director at The Jewish Journal in Los Angles and the co-founder of the New Zionist Congress. He’s contributed pieces to the New York Times, Tablet Magazine, and Ha’aretz.

Dr. Monica Osborne is JILV’s Scholar-in-Residence. She is an author, former professor, and expert in critical theory. Dr. Osborne edits the Jewish Journal’s The Speech Project, which explores issues of free speech and the growth of illiberalism. She has written for Newsweek, The New Republic, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Forward, and Chronicle of Higher Education among many others.
